Make Your Own Simple Syrup

Making your own simple syrup is very easy and is a great way to control what sweetener goes into your simple syrup. Once you make your own simple syrup it’s SUPER easy to make homemade alcoholic drinks or sweeten cold beverages or even make your own coffee syrups.

All you need is sugar and water, it’s truly that simple.

You won’t want this mixture to boil! You aren’t making candy or a glaze, you are making simple syrup. Just 5 minutes and you’ve got it done.

Reuse Bottles

If you have easy pour bottles on hand already, just reuse them and save yourself the dimes.

Easy Pour Bottles

These bottles are affordable and classy at the same time. Though if you struggle with ants or gnats, without a cap or lid, you may need to store your syrup in the fridge.

Pump Bottle

This pump bottle is very cool and has a cap to keep the bugs out of it. This bottle comes with cool labels for your syrups, too!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions

  • Pour water into a pot and pour sugar into the water. Turn the heat to medium and whisk the sugar in. Once the water looks clear again, you have simple syrup. You don't want to boil this mixture!
1 cup water, 1 cup sugar
  • Allow the simple syrup to cool and place in any container. We reuse old coffee syrup bottles for easier pouring.

Notes

To turn your simple syrup into flavored coffee syrups, once the syrup is removed from heat, drop 3 teaspoons of whatever flavoring you would like and stir in well. We use peppermint during the holidays and vanilla the most.
