I’m a big fan of making my food from scratch to avoid all the preservatives they’re throwing in food these days. It’s part of my health journey and I would love to encourage you if you are interested in un-processing your diet.
This particular recipes was gifted to me by my sweet friend in Maryland. I still have her handwritten recipe on the back of a gift list she had been working on. Those are the best treasures to have and keep.

Homemade Cocktail Sauce
It's easy to make cocktail sauce at home for your shrimp dishes and appetizers.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup chili sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 3 Tbsp horseradish sauce
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 dash hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Whisk all ingredients together in a bowl and chill till serving.1/2 cup chili sauce, 1/2 cup ketchup, 3 Tbsp horseradish sauce, 2 tsp lemon juice, 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 dash hot sauce (optional)
Notes
- if you don’t really like zip, use a little less horseradish and omit the hot sauce
- if you like more zip, use a spicier horseradish sauce
- you can make your own chili sauce and remove the high fructose corn syrup
